They include 3 different lengths from a short, sporty length to Bermuda length. You have the choice of a whole heap of options to personalise them such as cuffs, 2 different types of pockets, belt loops and sash plus the choice of either a simple elastic waistband or an adjustable elastic waistband.

They use a 1cm seam allowance which I’ll admit I didn’t take to straight away, however I’ve come to love this nifty little seam allowance because it means a whole lot less seam trimming (and more time spent actually doing the fun bit, sewing). The fit is just superb and if your girl has a cute little tummy then you’ll love the optional pot belly adjustment option so you can get the perfect fit for your child’s physique.

Like all other Pattern Emporium patterns, the instructions are very thorough and detailed. I especially like the clear photos included with each instruction step. The addition of bias binding on the front pockets adds a nice touch to these shorts and the pattern even includes instructions on how to sew and attach it using 2 different methods, so it’s perfect for the confident beginner!

I love the quick printing guide that you can easily reference to print only the style you need. Pattern Emporium also utilises quicklinks inside their pdf patterns, meaning you can ‘jump’ to read only the instructions you need to make your chosen style (and avoid the steps that don’t apply). The only thing missing from this wonderful pattern is printing layers.
