I’m excited to announce that we are on board for some giveaways over at Rebecca Page! This post is part of Turning the Page: Sewing for the Changing Seasons so there is plenty more inspiration linked. Scroll all the way down for all the entry details.
I live in Queensland, Australia. Around here winter lasts about three weeks, than randomly returns a few days at a time through spring. Last week we had beautiful warm, sunny days, and this week we’ve had cold, windy days. We’re all wishing for rain, but that’s just not happening.
Dressing for this in between season can be tricky. Making pieces that work for spring can be hard work.
I decided this year I need more Rebecca Page Arabella skirts in my life. The Arabella is a great all rounder skirt pattern. It has a flat front and all the lengths you’d could ever need! It also has an elastic back for comfort, thought I must admit I skipped the elastic in this in favour of an extra long tie and two button holes in my back waistband. It now ties nicely for an exact fit every time. This one is made with the most beautiful ghost crepe from Lush Fabrics Australia.
Never heard of ghost crepe? I hadn’t either before I ordered this. Ghost crepe is a very lightweight fabric, with all the texture you’d expect of crepe. It has five percent spandex, but it doesn’t stretch. Weird! But beyond perfect for this skirt. It is kinda sheer – I’m wearing it with a slip in these pictures.
Back to talking about those in between days. Some days I need something to throw over my skirt and t-shirt combo. You may have seen this jacket before. This is one of the Kingston jackets that I made way back during testing.
It’s made of chambray, so perfect for our cooler days.
Plus, who doesn’t look good in a denim jacket
And that’s probably enough for me! Below is all the details to enter the giveaways, including a fantastic gift voucher from my favourite shop, Lush Fabrics Australia.
